The purpose of the Randall Road at I-90 National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Phase I corridor improvements study is to evaluate potential improvements to Randall Road between Big Timber Road on the south and IL 72 on the north, with particular focus on its interchange with I-90 (the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway).

The intent of this phase of the project is to analyze the Alternatives Carried Forward from the Planning and Environmental Linkage (PEL) phase, create NEPA documents, and develop more detailed design schematics with the ultimate goal of determining a Preferred Alternative for the project.

The following items will be evaluated and/or updated during Phase I:

• Bicycle and pedestrian accommodations

• Traffic and safety information

• Utility impacts

• Detailed roadway, structural and drainage design

• NEPA analysis and documentation, which includes a description of environmental and community impacts

• Detailed noise analysis, including evaluation of noise mitigation strategies

• Continued public and stakeholder engagement
